Indiagames, a provider of online and mobile games, has signed a deal with Bharat Sanchar Nigam to offer its online 'games on demand' service.
The partnership will be on a revenue sharing basis where the majority of the income from the games will go to Indiagames, according to official sources.

To begin with, the service will offer over 300 international titles including Age of Empires II, Brian Lara's Cricket, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, IGI 2 Covert Strike, Rise of Nations and Hitman.

Vishal Gondal, CEO, Indiagames, said: "BSNL broadband, with its strong nationwide broadband network presence, will help us to take our games to a much wider audience than has been ever done before."

BSNL has over eight lakh broadband customers spread over 700 cities. By partnering Indiagames, BSNL, for the first time, is delivering content over broadband. "In the near future, we are also planning to provide many other value-added services like Internet Protocol TV and video on demand," Anil K Sinha, chairman and managing director, BSNL, said.

The games on demand service will be available to all DataOne broadband customers throughout the country under the Rs 100 plan or the Rs 200 plan. The customer also has a choice to register for the games on demand service for a free trial period of 15 days on any chosen plan at the end of which he can opt for regularising the services.
