Those who are looking to increase their sales and traffic through cost effective PPC or CPM marketing
Those who are tired of losing money to increasing PPC Costs by using the "traditional Adwords methods"
Website owners who are looking to increase their Adsense revenues and attract advertisers to their website

What is Google Adwords Site Targeting? (Placement Targeting)

If used properly, Google Adwords can be one of the most effective ways to promote and market your business, website, affiliate program or product. If used improperly, Google Adwords can and will destroy your profits and your sanity.

Simply put, Google Adwords is an advertising program by internet powerhouse, Google that allows you to bid on your niche keywords and place ads for your business in front of your target audience. There are two types of Adwords campaigns, "Keyword Targeted" and "Placement Targeted." We are going to focus on the latter in this report.

How to use Adwords Site Targeting Effectively

To get the maximum benefit from an Adwords Site Targeted Campaign, there are a few things you will need to know. Just going into Adwords and setting up a site targeted campaign without doing your research will get you nowhere.

The first thing you will need to do is find your niche keywords for your business, website, product or affiliate program which have the least amount of competition. There are a number of ways to go about this.

One way is to use the Adwords keyword tool. Ideally, you are looking for search phrases that have the most traffic with the least amount of advertiser competition. The most effective "buying phrases" are generally phrases of 3 or more keywords because using these ensure that the people viewing your ads are highly targeted and likely to click your ad. Remember, even though this is a very important step we are not bidding directly on these keywords, so don't get too caught up here.

Finding Websites to Site Target in Your Google Adwords Campaign

With this method, we are bidding on a Per-Thousand-Impressions (CPM) basis, NOT on a Pay-Per-Click basis. This changes everything. You want as many clicks as you get, because you aren't paying for each individual click.

I personally recommend setting up only one targeted website at a time in your Adwords campaign. Once you have one set up the way you want it, then it is ok to move to the next. There are a few key points to keep in mind here:

Be VERY selective about which websites you choose to target. Not only should you target sites that are very closely related to your niche, you should only target those that have great Adsense placements.

A great placement is one that is visible to the reader as soon as the page loads (above the fold)

If possible only target those sites with Adsense placements on the LEFT hand side or upper center section of the page- NOT on the right side of the screen. Eye tracking studies show that a readers eyes stay glued to the upper left section of the screen when arriving on a site.

Avoid sites that have Adsense placements at the bottom of the page. Remember, every time your ad is on a displayed page, this counts as an impression.

Here is a Free AdsenseFinder tool that will help you find high traffic websites to target.

Setting up Your Adwords Site Targeted Campaign
Once you have found your keywords and the websites to target, you now set up your campaign on Google Adwords. The major differences for setting up a site targeted campaign most effectively are as follows:

You will have to choose one targeted site from Googles list when initially setting up your campaign. After your campaign is set up, delete this initial placement and replace it with the EXACT URL of the page you are targeting. Remember that you CAN target individual pages, so do not target entire domains in order to avoid wasting impressions on pages with undesirable Adsense locations.

You should never have to pay more than $2-$3 per thousand impressions (CPM) it is possible to get as low as $0.25 CPM

Set a daily limit of no more than $15 per day for your campaign and adjust accordingly once you have sufficient data.
